Who are Sparks Magazine?

Sparks Magazine is one of the 3 WordPress websites that we developed for SNG Publishing. SNG Publishing publishes materials for students, lecturers and apprentices across the Barbering, Gas/Plumbing and Electrician niche.

As with the other 2 SNG websites that we created for HIP Magazine and Concept Hair Magazine, we decided to also build this website on WordPress. WordPress comes with lots of benefits including ease of use, visual editor to update pages, template system to add new pages as well as the ability to use third party plugins to secure and optimise the website for SEO & speed.

The design follows the same feel as HIP Magazine, which uses a clean layout, strong fonts and a social media feel. Social elements played a role in this project and we included links to social platforms as well as the ability for readers of articles to comment and engage.

The website has built in SEO functionality thanks to the availability of incredible SEO plugins such as Yoast that integrate in seconds with WordPress. Friendly URLS, Title Tags & Meta Descriptions all can be updated at the click of a button.

The website also sells ad space which can be easily managed from inside WordPress and as with the other 3 websites generates further revenue by offering magazine subscriptions for sale.
